I have a question about a sugar glider cage?

I have a cage for sugar gliders and its fencing is metal. I was wondering what I could cover it with or spray on it to make it safe so the gliders wont chew on it. I was thinking truck bed lining but I dont know this is really a concern for me. Anyone please help thankssss
